2007 Coalition Officers

Highway 55 Corridor Coalition Elects Officers for 2007

The Highway 55 Corridor Coalition at its December 16, 2006 General Membership meeting elected its officers for 2007. Elected Chair was Hennepin County Commissioner Penny Steele. Commissioner Penny Steele represents Hennepin County's Seventh District, which stretches from the Mississippi River on the north across and down the western portion of the county to the border with Carver County on the southwest. With a total population of approximately 160,000 people, District 7 is the largest geographical district in the county. Commissioner Steele was first elected in 1994.

Commissioner Steele’s governmental interests include: Public Safety, Public Works/Transportation and Social Programs which empower people rather than foster dependency.

Elected Vice Chairman was Jack, who lives and farmed near Delano, has been a Wright County commissioner since 1992. Prior to his election as commissioner, he served 8 years as a Franklin Township Supervisor. Jack serves on many County committees and is a representative of Wright County on three Joint Powers Boards, including the Highway 55 Corridor Coalition board. During his farming career, Jack was a member and delegate on the Mid America Dairymen’s Association.

Mark Casey was elected Secretary-Treasurer. Mark is currently the City Administrator for the City of Annandale since 2004. Prior to working for the City of Annandale, Mark worked for the Annandale and Maple Lake School Districts for ten years. Mark also worked for the cities of Columbia Heights, St. Peter and Faribault. Currently Mark also serves on the Allina Hospital Board of Trustees, Wright County Economic Partnership Board of Directors and Wright County Water Task Force.
