A 38-year-old Annandale woman died and a 32-year-old Buffalo woman was in critical condition last Friday night, Nov. 18 after a four-vehicle crash on Highway 55 at County Road 116 just a few miles west of Rockford, the State Highway Patrol reports.

Emergency personnel were called at 6:17 p.m. An eastbound car driven by Aimee Meade, 32, of Buffalo reportedly crossed the center line and collided head-on with a westbound sport utility vehicle driven by Michelle Newby, 38, of Annandale. A third vehicle collided with Meade’s car, and a fourth vehicle collided with Newby’s vehicle.

Meade was airlifted to the North Memorial Medical Center in critical condition.

Newby was also airlifted to North. She died at the hospital.

The drivers of the other vehicles, Brian Dulac, 26, of Hopkins and Jennifer Harvey, 24, of Clear Lake, were not injured.

Funeral services for Michael Newby were held Wednesday, Nov. 23, 1 p.m., at Dingmann Funeral Care, Annandale. A visitation took place Tuesday.
